Hi guys!
So, I have never made chicken and dumplings before .. and I think I’ve eaten it maybe one time before in my life, but the man in my house said to try it out, so why not? I just finished it making it for dinner, and I cheated a little & tried it before he got home,(because usually we wait and eat together), O-M-G. What have I been missing out on!? It’s so GOOD. I didn’t follow a recipe .. but I never usually do. It’s more fun that way! Sometimes 😉
Ingredients:
- 4 large chicken breasts *cooked and shredded*
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 2 1/2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 pack Grand’s Pillsbury biscuits
- 2 TBPS butter
- Salt & pepper
- Oregano
- Basil spice
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
Start by filling your soup pot halfway up with water, then add your butter. Bring your water to a simmer, and add your 2 1/2 cubes of chicken bouillon, and all of your spices. Again .. I don’t measure spices, but if you want a good estimate I probably used about 2 TBSP of each if I had to say.
Place the lid on your soup pot and simmer for about 10 minutes to get the flavors distributed. Next, you will add your *cooked* shredded chicken and again, cover & let simmer about 10-15 minutes.
In the meantime, using a regular bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup flour and 1 cup of milk. Add this mixture to your soup and whisk until well mixed together. Next, you will add about 1 1/2 cups of milk to top off the liquid for the rest of your soup. Adding more or less depending on preference.
Open your can of biscuits & divide each biscuit into 4 rolled balls. Drop them into your soup pot and cover for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook on med/low heat so to not scorch the milk. Taste as needed and you’re done!
I actually just finished my bowl while writing this, because my hubs showed up and I was s-t-a-r-v-i-n-g.. and I’m literally STUFFED. But so, so good. Enjoy! I’m off to make some Brownies! 😉
Nice recipe
