‘Tis the season

Hey friends šŸ™‚

I just wanted to share a small piece of my evening with you all! The weather has drastically dropped in temperature, and all that makes me want to do is bake the day away. (Which I plan to share with you all, don’t worry šŸ˜‰ ) But, nonetheless tonight was our small town Christmas parade, so of course I was looking forward to the sidewalk crowds and freezing weather ‘insert sarcastic face here’. But listen, that’s all we have for slight entertainment in this little place. And that’s okay!

Now, the main man in my house isn’t very festive, go figure LOL. So myself and the little man went with a friend to enjoy it all. We found a cozy..? place on the sidewalk before the crowds arrived. We spread out our blanket with our 3 hot chocolates and a box of crackers. Bon Appetit!

Now this is probably the 3rd Christmas parade I’ve had the privilege of watching, as working in the hospitality industry in the past, they own you. No, literally. Don’t make plans.. for the rest of your life. LOL. They practically own your evenings, weekends and holidays. So I completely look forward to all holiday events with family now. As anyone should! But FOR REAL..this parade lasted nearly two hours and I almost froze to death. Hot chocolate only stays hot for so long! Screaming kids on either side of us..frozen toes, noses and ears, two pockets full of candy, high school marching band, bad sound systems and halfway light up floats. You get my drift I’m sure.

But literally I had the best time! I love the feelings the holidays bring only a few times a year, especially with family. I always feel so nostalgic in my own lame way, lol! Even when I’m just baking in my kitchen with the Christmas tree lit and a roaring fire in the background. With all of the awful things that have happened so close to home in the last couple of months, I can’t help but be overwhelmingly thankful for the life I have. I have everything I need. The best family, friends & friends that, quite honestly, are our family. Please keep those families in your prayers that don’t get to share some of these sweet little moments together anymore.

Okay.. ANYWAYS, sorry for the sap! I just really appreciate little things like this.

Now that it’s 10:30, I’m going to attempt to shove some food in my face for the first time today and watch The Polar Express. Because I’m a child šŸ˜‰

  3. Enjoyed your post. As we all practice gratitude this holiday season, this is an idea I am trying to spread for those less fortunate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hidlnk1NC10&t=2s If you like it, please share it. Thanks, Rita
